The element of puzzle based game play is a major aspect of an Alternative Reality promotion. Participants will need to use technology ranging from pencil and paper to photographic software. Most elements are design to be challenging, but not impossible.
Some puzzle elements are designed to be solved by groups or masses of individuals working together. This approach was successful in solving the infamous "VirtuCube", a 2005 prize puzzle developed by VQC for players around
the world.
